Cryptocurrency Related Legislation Continues to Flood the Alert Service

ATMIA has received a record number of legislative alerts this year – over 670 so far. And there is still more than half a year to go. About two-thirds are related to cryptocurrency – 170 different bills spread across 44 states. Actions range from standing up a task force to study the issues, to including digital assets in unclaimed property law, to creating new law for bank interaction and money transmitter licensing. 

ATMIA recommends that all members who might be impacted by such measures, be opted-in to receiving Stateside alerts and closely monitor this activity. A total of 15 of those bills have already been signed into law by state governors.
