Daily COVID-19 Report - State by State

This is Stateside's Daily Report about State and Local Government responses to the evolving COVID-19 situation. For updates throughout the day follow us on Twitter at @StatesideAssoc.

Some of the new developments in today’s report include:

• Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) issued a proclamation extending the state of emergency for another 60 days.

• Delaware Governor John Carney (D) announced that June 1 shall be the target date on which Delaware shall begin Phase 1 of reopening Delaware's economy.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) has issued an order that ensures that enrollment in COVID-19 relief benefits does not disqualify an individual from receiving other state offered benefits.

Since the global outbreak of Coronavirus:

► Over 145 bills have been introduced in 42 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia on paid sick leave and worker protections as well as appropriations requests.

► Over 300 executive actions have been issued in 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Virgin Islands related to declarations of states of emergency, school closures, prohibition of mass gatherings, retail and business closures and restrictions, and stay at home orders. Over 1,120 executive actions have been issued in total.

► Over 20 state task forces have been established by 12 governors.

► Over 25 states and the District of Columbia have issued emergency regulations on a number of issues including but not limited to insurance carriers, labor and wage, and medical licensure.

► 69 legislative chambers have either temporarily adjourned, moved to virtual meetings, or announced an early recess or sine die.
