CALIFORNIA

The Burbank City Council will meet on October 4 to consider the adoption of an interim urgency ordinance establishing a moratorium on new and replacement restaurants with drive-throughs and the conversion of businesses with drive-throughs into drive-through restaurants citywide.

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors will meet on October 4 to consider recommendations regarding a Building Electrification Ordinance. The Board will hear options for regulating natural gas infrastructure in new buildings, additions, and alterations.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

The Committee on Government Operations and Facilities will meet on October 5 regarding District of Columbia B 501. This measure amends the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010 to ensure that the Office of Contracting and Procurement’s retrospective analysis of emergency procurements to addresses a period of additional emergency procurement authority after the expiration of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

IDAHO

The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will meet on October 4. The committee will discuss the Department of Environmental Quality budget and receive an overview of Idaho Water Users and an update on Children's Behavioral Health in the state.

MICHIGAN

The House Workforce, Trades, and Talent Committee will meet on October 6 regarding Michigan SB 1057. This measure relates to the licensing requirements for certain medical first responders.

The House Workforce, Trades, and Talent Committee will meet on October 6 regarding Michigan HB 6400. This measure waives initial registration fees for certain veterans.

NEBRASKA

The Appropriations Committee will hold an interim hearing on October 7 regarding Nebraska LR 406. This measure proposes an interim study to examine the implementation the office of Chief Information Officer's information technology consolidation initiative to ensure efficient use of Nebraska taxpayer resources.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

The House Executive Departments and Administration Committee will conduct an executive session on October 5 regarding New Hampshire HB 1566. This measure amends the chapter on Prescription drug affordability boards to read that the board may employ an executive director who may be an unclassified employee who will serve at the pleasure of the board.

The House Executive Departments and Administration Committee will conduct a interim study executive session on October 5 regarding HB 1444. This measure requires that medical spas have one or more physicians, doctors of naturopathic medicine, or APRNs serving as medical directors and creates rules for supervision of non-licensed professionals.

The House Science, Technology, and Energy Committee will hold an interim executive session on October 6 regarding New Hampshire HB 1644. This measure would establish siting requirements for telecommunications antennas and provide for a radiation exposure registry.

NEW JERSEY

The Senate Environment and Energy Committee will have a hearing on October 6 regarding New Jersey SB 416. This measure prohibits the Director of Investments from investing any state retirement funds in fossil fuel companies.

TENNESSEE

The Nashville Metropolitan Council will conduct a public hearing on October 4 regarding the proposed Property Assessed Clean Energy and Resiliency Program.

WASHINGTON

The Legislative Task Force on Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Premiums will meet on October 7 to discuss the required actuarial report for the Paid Leave Insurance Fund and rates.

WYOMING

The Joint Labor, Health and Social Services Committee will hold an interim hearing from October 6 to October 7. The committee will discuss the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, the Licensed Professional Counselor Compact, and mental health services for juveniles under court-ordered placement.

Meghan Holihan

Senior Director of Corporate Affairs

Meghan Holihan serves as Senior Director of Corporate Affairs at Stateside. She manages a team of Special Projects Associates that provides support to the Issue Management Team and an array of clients. Meghan co-leads the continuous development of our lobbyist network, making qualified contract lobbying referrals to clients and assisting them with advocacy efforts. Each year Meghan manages the firm's elections projects delivering in-depth blogs, podcasts, reports, and presentations throughout the cycle and all-night and day-after results coverage for clients.

Meghan began working at Stateside in 2013 as a Projects Coordinator. Prior to joining the firm, she managed campaigns for City Council, the Virginia House of Delegates, and the Virginia State Senate. She served in the Virginia State Senate for two sessions in the Majority Leader’s Office. Meghan holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf, cheering for the World Champion Nationals, and spending quality time with her cats.

Where do you call home?  Originally from Danville, VA but now Arlington is home. 

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? I’m an only child.

What is the last thing you did for the first time? Hiked into the Grand Canyon. And proceeded to get pricked by a cactus.

What’s the last show you binge-watched? Stay Close on Netflix. It’s a British crime drama.

What’s your favorite board game? Codenames

What was your first job?  2nd window at McDonalds – it was the best paying job a high school student could get in Danville. Pro tip: Always ask for the round egg on your breakfast sandwich.

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? No-strings attached airline miles.
