CALIFORNIA
The Los Angeles Trade, Travel, and Tourism Committee will meet on June 4 to receive reports from the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Chief Legislative Analyst relative to autonomous vehicle regulations. The Senate Environmental Quality Committee will hold a hearing on June 5 regarding AB 637. This measure requires a fleet owner to acquire zero-emission vehicles as part of its fleet, the state board shall authorize the rental of a zero-emission vehicle for a cumulative total of 260 days in a calendar year to be deemed ownership of one zero-emission vehicle for purposes of meeting that obligation.

The Atlanta City Council will meet on June 3 to consider an ordinance related to taxicab and rideshare services to raise the permissible age of vehicles operating at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport from seven years to 10 years to maintain a level playing field among vehicle-for-hire services.

The Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on
June 3 regarding AB 3800. This measure prohibits the sale, distribution, import, or manufacture of any children’s product intended for use by a child under the age of six that contains, is composed of, or is made with lead, mercury, or cadmium.

The House Government Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on June 4 regarding HB 367. This measure prohibits a person, without the written consent of the depicted individual, from doing either of the following:
(1) Prepare, produce, or develop any malicious deep fake recording of an individual's voice, image, or likeness to distribute to, exhibit to, or exchange with others;
(2) Offer to distribute, exhibit, or exchange a malicious deepfake recording with others.
