STATE AND LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS

CALIFORNIA

The San Diego City Council will meet August 6 to consider an ordinance amending Title 3, Chapter 8 of the Municipal Code to establish regulations for the businesses that operate electric micro-mobility devices.

The Santa Cruz Board of Supervisors will meet August 6 to consider options to reduce litter and plastic pollution.

COLORADO

The Denver City Council Land Use, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will meet August 6 to consider amending various sections of Chapter 54 of the City Revised Municipal Code concerning the operation of electric scooters in the City.

The Board of Medicine will accept comments until August 5 regarding adopted emergency amendments to a rule concerning the standard of care for office surgery and proposed permanent amendments.

MASSACHUSETTS

The Department of Higher Education will hold public hearings August 5 and 8 regarding proposed amendments to the financial review and risk monitoring rules for independent institutions of higher education.

NORTH CAROLINA

The Department of Health and Human Services will hold a public hearing August 8 regarding proposed amendments to the rules governing self-referrals by health care providers.

The Department of General Services will accept comments until August 8 regarding proposed amendments to the fees for environmental laboratories.

WISCONSIN

 

The Senate Committee on Health and Human Services will hold a public hearing August 6 regarding SB 217, which requires the Department of Health Services to submit a biennial report including the financial implication of diabetes on the state and an assessment of programs and activities to reduce the incidence of diabetes.
